Canvas stretcher frames come in various shapes and sizes depending of the artists needs and the size of the canvas. Heavy duty stretcher bars are also known as the ‘midi’, these frames are very strong and durable. Made with best quality wood they have a 1 ½” depth just like that of a super heavy duty bar. The beaded round edges of the frame help stretch the canvas to create a smooth surface and hold the fabric in place without coming in contact with the wood. This makes sure the canvas does not tear due to resistance or by the edges of the frame.

Slights knots do not affect the quality or strength of the frames, a completely knot free wood will increase the price of the frames drastically.

Because of this the overall weight of these frames are light yet quite strong. Sometimes the frames might slightly bend or curve due to weather changes like increase in moisture, humidity etc. Even with these strong frames it is a good idea to use braces, they can delay the process of bending and keep your stretcher bars sturdy and straight.
